CSX Railroad – 108” Plate Arch Tunnel

White Construction & Associates, Inc. installed this 108” Plate Arch Tunnel under the CSX Railroad Just north of I-240 in Memphis, TN.  The installation required two (2) crews working 7 days a week and two (2) Twelve Hour shifts day and night for 8 months to complete the installation of 130 Linear Feet of tunnel liner that housed the 72 inch interceptor sewer for the City of Memphis.  The railroad embankment and rail system stood approximately 30 vertical feet overhead from this Tunnel Operation.   Needless to say this project was challenging to say the least.  However, our crews and staff persevered and got the job done.  Just another example of our family moto “Too Tough for Everyone else is Just Right for Us”
