Swift Truck Training Facility

This was a Design Build project we did for our clients at Swift Trucking.  The project consisted of developing a 15 Acre training facility were Swift could train tomorrows drivers.  Unfortunately this site was an old Landscape nursery and the previous owner had been dumping debris here for years.  This was not discovered until Swift had already purchased the property and our initial site investigation took place with the geotechnical engineer.  The existing soil conditions were not suitable for the truck loads the training facility would be subjected to.  Therefore, this created a serious financial expense to the project for the export of unsuitable material and import of suitable soils to replace it.  Logistically suitable borrow material is not readily available in this area.  However, we were able to develop a solution to eliminate the need for offsite borrow by modifying the design slightly and performing Lime Stabilization to the existing soils to achieve optimum moisture and the necessary density requirements for the projected loads.  White Construction & Associates, Inc. was able to value engineer this project and develop a solution that would meet our clients’ needs as well as save them a substantial amount of cost.
